The house was purchased at the end of 1996 and after fund raising and planning the work started in the summer of the following year.



The renovation took a long time, we faced never ending bureaucratic problems and obtaining materials was difficult and time consuming. The many volunteers from many different countries and the strong support from our sponsors kept us going through times when we felt like giving up.



The house was finally finished and in August 2000 we took in the first of our children.
In the following two months four more children were given a chance of a better life here in our home.

By November 2001 two more children arrived.
